Our Story

Sullivans Cove Apartments is proudly a Tasmanian owned and operated business. Founded by locals Paul and Cameron in 2006, the business was born from a love of lutruwita/Tasmania, a passion for the tourism industry, and a desire to share the best of nipaluna/Hobart with you.

From humble beginnings with just two IXL apartments, the hand-picked collection has now grown to over fifty apartments located in and around Hobart’s waterfront precinct.

Why Sullivans Cove? Aside from its beauty and accessibility, Sullivans Cove has been the centre of life in nipaluna/Hobart ever since the first European settlers established Hobart Town at Hunter Island, near the site of today’s Hunter Street and IXL Apartments, over 200 years ago. From a natural, deep water bay to a thriving capital city, nipaluna/Hobart today is a gentler place, where visitors wander shady boulevards, and the stories of those early years can still be discovered in the streets and buildings of this waterfront town.

The lutruwitan/Tasmanian story echoes throughout Sullivans Cove Apartments. From our heritage locales; to our strong focus on supporting local people, makers and producers; to the authentic Tassie welcome on your arrival in nipaluna/Hobart.

Covid-19

Sullivans Cove Apartments follows all Tasmanian Government guidelines to incorporate COVID-safety into our day-to-day practice.

As always, apartments are thoroughly cleaned after each departure and surfaces sanitised. To best protect our guests and team, we are currently operating on a reduced weekly service schedule to minimise contact.

All surfaces within our Reception area are regularly sanitised and hand sanitiser is available for guest use. Please follow social distancing guidelines and adhere to maximum occupancy limits.

The implications of the Coronavirus mean the hours of our Reception office may change. Please take special note of any emails and/or text messages we send you closer to your arrival as these will explain important check-in instructions.

Services & Facilities

While apartment accommodation has many benefits, such as the additional value, convenience, functionality, and space of your very own home away from home, it’s not for everyone. If you prefer 24-hour room service and a concierge on hand, then a hotel may be your preferred option. For those happy to swap these services for the benefit of premium apartment-style living, then Sullivans Cove Apartments is the choice for you.

Services include:
  • Reception operates 9.00am – 5.00pm daily (however please note changes may apply due to impacts of Covid-19, see above)
  • 24/7 after-hours assistance and check-in is provided outside these hours
  • Express check-out 
  • Remote check-in 
  • Complimentary, unlimited Wi-Fi
  • Secure undercover car parking is available for an additional daily charge, we recommend booking in advance to guarantee availability
  • All major credit cards accepted (surcharge applies)

Whilst each apartment in our collection is unique, all offer separate bedroom and spacious living areas.  All One, Two, and Three Bedroom Apartments offer full kitchen and laundry facilities.  Please note our Kelly Street Studio Apartment has a well-appointed kitchenette, but no laundry.
